2008 Problem-Solving Sessions #1 (10/24,25,27)

Please gather at Rm 260 at the following times to discuss, ask, answer questions on past comps problems.

Friday 24th: After TGIF

Saturday 25th: 3 p.m.

Monday 27th: 7 p.m.

2008 Review Sessions (10/13-10/19)

(Given roughly in the order of the actual comps date this year)

Please update this list rather than the one below that is stolen from last year.

Note: We plan on meeting in Gates 260 for all of the review sessions. If 260 is occupied, then everyone can meet there and then find an alternate place (the 4B area in Gates is probably a safe bet).

Monday:

Compilers/HCI (7:30-8:30): ?????/cirimele@cs

Numerical Analysis (8:30-9:30): ????? (dejacobs has taken a math NA class, but didn't get much out of it)

Tuesday:

Software Systems (7:30-8:30): zdevito

Graphics (8:30-9:30):jldolson , lyang

Wednesday:

Logic (7:30-8:30): aanjneya

Weekly Saturday Meetings

Another group is meeting weekly on Saturdays. The next meeting is at 3pm coming Saturday at Gates 260 (continues from the AI session above). Topics covered are as follows (order may turn out to be different):

Programming Languages lyang

Algorithms mcfchan

Networks huangty

Databases (SQL) pflam@cs

Study Group Sign-ups (stolen from last year's page):

Please bold your name next to the test name below if you feel able to help lead a review session on the topic (that is, you're not just rolling the dice on the test ;))

Maybe 2 to 3 group leaders per test?

Note: The subject links below are to the old (2005?) pages. Once group leaders are assigned to each test, pages might be updated with current group members, meeting times, etc.

Yearly Passing Scores

Cutoff score in parentheses (# correct/# possible)

Number of passes and fails are in brackets: [# passes/# fails]

e.g., Algorithms (31/60) [9/19]

31 out of 60 was the cutoff. 9 people passed, 19 failed.

(Blanks and question marks indicate unknown total possible score)
